The Government’s Green Transport Plan:
Capital Support promote the employee ‘Cycle to Work Scheme’.
The Finance Act introduced the Annual Tax Exemption as part of the Government’s Green Transport Plan. Its’ purpose is to enable employers to loan cycle and cyclist safety equipment to employees with a tax-free benefit. The scheme is available subject to certain basic criteria.
Capital Support promotes this scheme, which provides employees with the facilities to cycle to work. The benefits run parallel to contemporary issues such as the move to a greener and physically healthier society. By acting as an intermediary between bicycle hire shops and employees, Capital Support are reducing their carbon footprint further still. The sponsorship for the program runs parallel to our promotion of ‘Green IT;’ the process of reducing energy consumption through hosted and virtualised technology.
Employees benefit from the opportunity to leave their vehicles at home and avoiding rush hour traffic. They can cycle from home to the station, home to work, station to work, or a combination of these all the while improving their own health and fitness. Employees are not subject to delays due to traffic and rail interference, or peak travel rates. They are therefore fit and ready to start their day at Capital Support.
